(09 January 2021) Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza convened the first virtual dialogue for the new year between the Embassy and the community leaders in Santiago on 9 January. 2021. It was attended by the Ms. Maricris Roxas of Jesus Is Lord, Ms. Mary Ann Javellana of the Rookies, Ms.Gloria Camagong of G-Flex, Ms. Theresa Barola of Happy Feet, Ms. Flora Solis of Illonga Ladies and Ms. Charie Atencio of Adventurers Group The meeting also welcomed Ms. Remedios de Guzman of the Iglesia ni Cristo Chapter of Santaigo. Updates on the Filipino corner at the Escuela de la Republica de Filipinas, the awarding ceremony of the logo competition for the 75th Anniversary of Philippine-Chile Relations and commemorative and other activities for CY2021 were among the topics discussed with the community. The Ambassador was also joined by Mr. Jeffry D. Aranda, Cultural Officer and Mr. Jay A. Alere, Consular Assistant and ATN Officer. END
PHILIPPINE EMBASSY COMMEMORATES THE 124th YEAR OF THE MARTYRDOM OF DR. JOSE RIZAL

(30 December 2020) Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza and the Philippine Embassy team in Santiago commemorated the 124th Martyrdom Anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Plaza Filipinas in Las Condes, Santiago Chile. The ceremony was immediately followed by a simple breakfast of some Filipino cuisine at the Chancery while observing COVID-19 safety protocols. END
LOGO COMPETITION AWARDING FOR THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF PHILIPPINE-CHILE DIPLOMATIC RELATION

(21 December 2020) The Philippine Embassy in Santiago successfully concluded its Logo Competition for the 75th Anniversary of Philippine-Chile Diplomatic Relations and held a simple awarding ceremony at the Embassy garden on 21 December 2020. Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza awarded the following winners of the competition: Ms. Ariane S. Bobillo (1st prize), Ms. Sofia Marin Lira (2nd prize) and Ms. Romina Tamara B. Ugarte (3rd prize). The winners received 150, 000 CLP, 100,000 CLP and 50,000 CLP respectively. Each winner also received a bottle of Chilean wine and face mask on the campaign on anti-violence against women. The winning designs depicted commonalities between both countries. In Ms. Bobillo´s design she highlighted the geographic locations of the Philippines and Chile and the major factors underlying deep connection such as shared cultural perspective, similar political experiences and common goal of institutionalizing international cooperation, as depicted by the two hands with distinct veins.
The logo competition was undertaken in preparation for the commemoration of 75th anniversary of Philippine-Chile Diplomatic relations in 2021 END.
