Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza held a virtual meeting with Consul Corazon Oliva Reyes, Philippine Honorary Consul in Guayaquil and leaders of the Filipino Community in Ecuador on 08 February 2021. The Ambassador was joined by Embassy officers and staff. Among the leaders of the community who attended were Mr. Ric Dolor (Manta), Ms. Virgie Natividad (Cuenca), Ms. Dianalyn Fiallos (Latacunga and Ambato), Mr. Raymund Huntley (Cuenca), Chef Kim (Quito) and Mr. Conrado Valdez (Guayaquil). The virtual meeting, the first dialogue with the community in Ecuador for 2021, discussed relevant developments/ updates as well as consular and other concerns.END

Pursuant to Inter-agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infections Diseases (IATF) Resolution No. 98, the Embassy informs that beginning 16 February 2021, the following foreign nationals will be allowed entry into the Philippines:
- Holders of valid and existing Special Resident and Retirees Visas (SRRV) and 9(A) visas, provided they are able to secure an exemption document from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) that shall be presented to the Bureau of Immigration upon arrival.
- Those with visas issued as of 20 March 2020 and still valid and existing at the time of entry into the Philippines, and who were not permitted entry under previous IATF Resolutions.
All foreign nationals permitted entry into the Philippines will need to comply with the following conditions:
- Secure and present a pre-booked accommodation for at least six (6) nights in a Department of Tourism (DOT)-accredited quarantine hotel/facility;
- Undergo RT-PCR COVID-19 testing at their respective quarantine hotel/facility on the sixth (6th) day from the date of arrival in the Philippines, and other applicable quarantine and isolation protocols as prescribed by the Department of Health; and
- Entry is subject to the maximum capacity of inbound passengers at the port and date of entry.
