08 June 2021- Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza and spouse David V. Daza together with Consul Dennis John C. Briones, Communications and Information Officer Jeffry Aranda and Special Assistant Paula Rodriguez met with the officials of KRAN Technologies- pioneer of Chilean nanobubbles technology and agricultural/ Aquaculture/ water treatment solutions in Purto Montt. In the said visit KRAN was principally represented by its CEO Jaime De La Cruz Gonzales, Chief Technical Officer Manuel Vial, Communications Officer Fernanda Garreton, and by its team of scientist and experts.
CEO De La Cruz provided a backgrounder of the company, tracing their roots from Patagonia, southernmost tip of Chile, a technology company dedicated to the development of environment-friendly solutions that pioneers the use of ultrafine bubbles/nanobubble on sustainable development and environmental solutions-on the recovery of contaminated environments, aquaculture and agriculture, animal health, water treatment, and disinfection and purification of food oxygenation, He also shared the vision for KRAN´s global growth and underscored the company´s commitment to the protection of the environment (in line with the UN SDGs), good practices, cost reduction, and green solutions, and to maintain its foothold as a leader in nanobubble technology in South America.
CEO dela Cruz´s backgrounder was followed by the presentation of Chief Technical Officer Manuel Vial on the specifications, service offerings and customized solutions spanning multiple industries. He described Kran´s main business divisions and industries applications in aquaculture, agriculture and water treatment as well as other potential applications.
An ocular visit to the company´s headquarters and production site in Puerto Montt was also made where the reliability and efficiency of Kran machines was demonstrated. END
PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN SANTIAGO MEETS THE NEW SERNAPESCA´S REGIONAL DIRECTOR FOR THE LOS LAGOS REGION
09 June 2021- Relative to the 75th Anniversary of Philippine-Chile Diplomatic Relations, Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza and spouse David V. Daza together with Consul Dennis John C. Briones, Communications and Information Officer Jeffry Aranda and Special Assistant Paula Rodriguez met with the officials of SERNAPESCA (Servicio Nacional de Pesca y Agricultura) . SERNAPESCA was represented by the new Regional Director Branny Montecinos, Head of Regional Office of Aquaculture Claudia Andrea Chaparro, Head of Regional office of Food Safety and certification Patricio Gonzales, and Head of Regional Office of Animal Health Osvaldo Sandoval.
This was Santiago PE´s second visit to SERNAPESCA´s Regional Direstorate for Los Lagos, with the first being its initial meeting with then Regional Director Eduardo Aguilera on 08 July 2019 in preparation for a planned high-level PHL aquaculture study visit to the south of Chile on the sidelines of the 5th APEC Ministerial Meeting on Food Security on 23 August 2019.
This second meeting between Santiago PE and SERNAPESCA serves as a courtesy call to the new Regional Director Branny Montecinos as well as to reaffirm the cooperation between Post, DA-BFAR and SERNAPESCA. It also served as an opportunity to discuss and brief the new director on the progress of negotiations on the MOU on Fisheries and Aquaculture between the Philippines and Chile, and to reflect on stronger collaboration between the two countries following the first BFAR-SERNAPESCA Virtual Dialogue on 23 April 2021. Briones and Cultural Officer/Filcom Coordinator Jeffry Aranda met with the members of the Filipino Community in Valdivia, Region Los Rios, Chile. Six out of eight Filipinos, residing in the Regions of Los Rios and Los Lagos joined the informal get-together which provided the Embassy an opportunity to update them on the activities relative to the 75th Anniversary of Philippine-Chile Relations, respond to consular issues and concerns as well as inform on personnel changes in Consular and ATN Section of the Embassy. Registration of five Filipinos for the upcoming presidential elections was also conducted. Among the Filipinos who attended this informal get together are Imelda Arinquin, Jennifer Cabrera, Annie Joy Amada, Janet Quilang, Olan King Del Carmen and Mary Grace Balinos. END
12 June 2021- Santiago PE held a simple virtual flag raising ceremony to celebrate the 123rd Anniversary of Philippine Independence given the entire Santiago, region Metropilitana reverted to Paso 1 on 12 June which meant total quarantine and restricted movements. The virtual ceremony included the singing of the national anthem, recitation of pledge of allegiance to the flag, reading of President Duterte´s message and viewing of the video message of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs.
