VIRTUAL MEETING WITH THE FILIPINO COMMUNITY LEADERS IN SANTIAGO, CHILE

Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza joined by Finance Officer Vanessa I. Arevalo, Consualr Attache , Jay A. Alere and Cultural Officer Mr. Jeffry D. Aranda, had a virtual meeting with the Filipino Community leaders in Santiago, Chile on 27 February 2021.
The Ambassador updated the community on the recent inauguration of the Philippine-inspired mural at the Escuela de la Republica de Filipinas and the Philippine Corner at the school library. The Philippine Corner’s furnishings carpets, bean bags, educational materials, among others, were made poissible through the collaboration between the Embassy and the Filcom. Mr. Aranda provided a financial report of this cultural/community collaborative activity, followed by a brief presentation on financial management and recent governemnt investment offerings by Ms. Arevalo and a briefing on consular services and requirements by Mr. Alere.
3rd SUB-REGIONAL CONSULTATION MEETING (SRCM) FOR LAT AM POSTS

Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza participated in the 3rd Sub-Regional Consultation Meeting (SRCM) on 26 February 2021. The virtual meeting was hosted by the Philippine Ambassador Demetrio R. Tuason of Mexico and participated by all Philippine Heads of Posts in Latin America (Ambassador Linglingay F. Lacanlale of Argentina, CDA Leilani S. Feliciano of Brazil, Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza of Chile and Ambassador Demetrio R. Tuason of Mexico as Host) Commercial Counselor Vichael Angelo Roaring, Tourism Attache Richmond Jimenez and Agrigulture Attached Dr. Josyline Javelosa were also present in the meeting. The virtual meeting highlighted the recent developments on the COVID pandemic and government responses; discussed cooperation efforts and explored possible future collaborations to further strengthen Phillippine presence in the region in the areas of trade and investment, culture, agriculture, science and technology and tourism. Consul Dennis John C. Briones and Cultural Officer Mr. Jeffry D. Aranda also attended as part of the Philippine delegation. END
ASEAN COMMITTEE IN SANTIAGO´S LUNCH MEETING WITH CHILEAN FOREIGN MINISTER ANDRES ALLAMAND AND OTHER HIGH LEVEL OFFICIALS

Philippine Ambassador to Chile H.E. Ma. Teresita C. Daza joined the rest of the ASEAN Committee in Santiago (ACS) in a lunch meeting with Chilean Foreign Minister Andres Allamand, Undersecretary Carolina Valdivia, Director General Felipe Lopeandia and DIRAPAC Director Carlos Olguin on 26 February 2021 at the Indonesian Embassy Residence in Lo Barnechea. The ACS Ambassadors and high-level MFA officials discussed ongoing cooperation between ASEAN and Chile, as well as individual bilateral initiatives to further strengthen relations between Chile and the ASEAN countries in attendance. ACS is composed of the Embassies of the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. Indonesia currently holds the rotating Chairmanship of ACS. END
