09 June 2021- Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza and spouse David V. Daza together with Consul Dennis John C. Briones and Cultural Officer/Filcom Coordinator  Jeffry Aranda met with the members of the Filipino Community in Valdivia, Region Los Rios, Chile. Six out of eight Filipinos, residing in the Regions of Los Rios and Los Lagos joined the informal get-together which provided the Embassy an opportunity to update them on the activities relative to the 75th Anniversary of Philippine-Chile Relations, respond to consular issues and concerns as well as inform on personnel changes in Consular and ATN Section of the Embassy. Registration of five Filipinos for the upcoming presidential elections was also conducted. Among the Filipinos who attended this informal get together are Imelda Arinquin, Jennifer Cabrera, Annie Joy Amada, Janet Quilang, Olan King Del Carmen and Mary Grace Balinos. END

12 June 2021- Santiago PE held a simple virtual flag raising ceremony to celebrate the 123rd Anniversary of Philippine Independence given the entire Santiago, region Metropilitana reverted to Paso 1 on 12 June which meant total quarantine and restricted movements. The virtual ceremony included the singing of the national anthem, recitation of pledge of allegiance to the flag, reading of President Duterte´s message and viewing of the video message of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs. 12 June 2021- Ms. Kathbeth Kreimer, Filcom Coordinator based in Lima, Peru organized a virtual gathering attended by some 36 members of the Filipino Community in Peru together with the Embassy officers and staff, to celebrate the 123rd Anniversary of Philippine Independence. The program consisted of group singing of the National Anthem, opening prayer by Reverend Gerardo Laguartilla, reading of President Duterte´s Independence Day Message by, and brief remarks from Ambassador Daza. In her remarks, the Ambassador repeated the importance of concretely acting for the common good which in this time of pandemic meant taking care of oneself, being responsible community members observing protocols and getting vaccinated to put a stop to the further spread of the virus. Several musical performances by community members interspersed with games recalling Philippine history and culture were also held. In her concluding remarks, Ms. Kreimer expressed appreciation for the active participation of all attendees as well the opportunity to gather even virtually to recall the significance of 12 June and facets of Philippine history and culture. 12 June 2021- Consul Corazon Oliva Reyes, Philippine Honorary Consul in Guayaquil Ecuador and representatives from the Philippine community held a simple celebration of the 123rd Anniversary of Philippine Independence at the Consul´s residence/office on 12 June 2021. Dressed in Philippine attire, they raised the Philippine flag, sang the national anthem and had a simple salo-salo after. END
