17 December 2021- The Chilean government awarded Philippine Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza, the Medalla al Merito de Chile, Grado Gran Cruz, the highest distinction granted by the Chilean Government to foreign nationals.  At the awarding ceremonies held at the Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores of Chile, Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Carolina Valdivia commended the outgoing Philippine Ambassador for her exemplary efforts in promoting Philippine-Chile bilateral relations, including ensuring the conclusion of important bilateral agreements and hosting year-round activities in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations.  Despite the constraints posed by the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Philippines and Chile successfully signed in 2021 the MOU on the Joint Economic Commission (JEC) and the MOU on Cooperation in Agriculture, and laid the groundwork for future cooperation in fisheries and aquaculture, tourism and culture.

Ambassador Daza expressed her profound gratitude for the singular honor bestowed on her and on the Philippines, and noted important areas of common concern between the Philippines and Chile that provide ample opportunities for continued and future engagement, including disaster response, climate change adaptation, sustainable fisheries and productive aquaculture, as well as growing cooperation between ASEAN and the Pacific Alliance, and within FEALAC.   END.

15 December 2021- Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza hosted a friendship lunch for Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director of Asia Pacific Ambassador Carlos Olguin, the Apostolic Nuncio and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Monseñor Alberto Ortega, the Ambassadors and spouses of the ASEAN Committee in Santiago the Ambassador of Korea and Chargé d´ Affaires of Ecuador on 15 December 2021 at Amandine Restaurant, Hyatt Centric Santiago.

The lunch was in gratitude for the many blessings received in 2021 including good health, work and friendship and as an introduction to the incoming Chargé d´ Affaires of the Philippine Embassy in the person of Mr. Jim Tito San Agustin.

As a special treat the lunch also featured caviar tasting and a special menu using caviar and sturgeon fish from Chile as ingredients for the appetizer, principal dish, and dessert. The owners of Acuicola farm in Parral/Kenoz Company Mr. Felipe Vial, his daughter Ms. Trinidad Vial and business partner Chef Rudy Scholdis also joined the friendship lunch. END
