SANTIAGO PE´S DESPIDIDA FOR AMBASSADOR CLAUDIO ROJAS

Ambassador Daza hosted a simple despidida for Ambassador Claudio Rojas and spouse Maritza on 26 August 2020 at the Embassy grounds. Ambassador Rojas served as the Director for the Asia Pacific Division in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is the incoming Chilean Ambassador to the Philippines.

Ambassador Daza thanked Ambassador Claudio for his cooperation and support. She recounted the successful 5^th Philippine-Chile Political Consultations and the Action Points agreed to further deepen relations; Chile´s support for the Philippine bid for Observer Status in the Pacific Alliance; and the Philippine support for Chile´s acession as Dialogue Partner of ASEAN among recent collaborations. She also highlighted the significance of 2021 when the Philippines and Chile will be celebrating 75 years of diplomatic relations.

Ambassador Daza was joined by her spouse David Daza Jr., Consul Dennis John Briones and the other staff of the Embassy, while Ambassador Claudio and Martiza were joined by junior officer Marco with spouse Belen. All were treated to delicious Philippine delicacies including kaldereta, embutido, barbecue ribs, cucumber salad and sapin sapin, prepared by Cultural Officer Jeffry Aranda.

ASEAN COMMITTEE IN SANTIAGO VIRTUAL FAREWELL GATHERING FOR AMB. CLAUDIO ROJAS

The ASEAN Committee in Santiago (ACS) under the Chairmanship of Vietnam organized on 17 August 2020 a virtual farewell meeting for Ambassador Claudio Rojas, Director of Asia Pacific Division, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), and incoming Chilean Ambassador to the Philippines. The virtual event allowed each ASEAN HOP (Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines and Thailand) to express their gratitude for the support and cooperation extended by Ambassador Rojas during his tenure as Director. He served in MEA´s Asia-Pacific Division for some two years.
