Ambassador Daza hosted a simple despidida for Ambassador Claudio Rojas and spouse Maritza on 26 August 2020 at the Embassy grounds. Ambassador Rojas served as the Director for the Asia Pacific Division in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is the incoming Chilean Ambassador to the Philippines.
Ambassador Daza thanked Ambassador Claudio for his cooperation and support. She recounted the successful 5th Philippine-Chile Political Consultations and the Action Points agreed to further deepen relations; Chile´s support for the Philippine bid for Observer Status in the Pacific Alliance; and the Philippine support for Chile´s acession as Dialogue Partner of ASEAN among recent collaborations. She also highlighted the significance of 2021 when the Philippines and Chile will be celebrating 75 years of diplomatic relations.
Ambassador Daza was joined by her spouse David Daza Jr., Consul Dennis John Briones and the other staff of the Embassy, while Ambassador Claudio and Martiza were joined by junior officer Marco with spouse Belen. All were treated to delicious Philippine delicacies including kaldereta, embutido, barbecue ribs, cucumber salad and sapin sapin, prepared by Cultural Officer Jeffry Aranda.
