Officials and staff of ASEAN Embassies in Santiago pose for a group photo; CDA Punsalang alongside Heads of Posts of Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand present a token of appreciation to Vietnamese Ambassador Nguo Due Thang.

(Santiago, 13 November 2017) – The ASEAN Committee in Santiago (ACS) composed of the embassies of the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam organized a friendly bowling tournament on November 13 at the Japimax Bowling Center in Barrio Universitario, Santiago.

The event served as an afternoon of camaraderie and enjoyment for officers, staff and members of their families, while at the same time continuing to strengthen their bond as one ASEAN family. Prizes and small tokens were awarded to the winning team and players.

The activity also served as an opportunity for the ACS to bid farewell to outgoing Vietnamese Ambassador, H.E. Nguo Due Thang, who is due to return to Hanoi after completing his tour of duty in Chile.

The Philippine Embassy is due to assume Chairmanship of the ACS in December 2017.  The Embassy has already lined up a series of similar sports activities, official calls to Chilean Ministries, and other ASEAN-related activities in an effort to further promote ASEAN in Santiago.  END
