Philippine Embassy Team displays Filipino products and entertains inquiries by Chilean businessmen and exporters during the event.
(Santiago, 13 December 2017) – The Philippine Embassy in Santiago showcased Filipino products and promoted opportunities for trade and investment at the Asia Pacific Expo held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in El Golf, Santiago, on 13 December 2017. The event is an annual activity organized by the Chilean government to connect local businesses and exporters with foreign embassies and their trade offices in Chile. The event was attended by more than 20 participating embassies and was inaugurated by no less than President Michelle Bachelet.
President Bachelet in her opening speech described the event as “an important bridge between countries in the Asia Pacific and a reaffirmation of the flourishing partnership and increasing dynamism of the business and investment climate in the region.”
The Philippine booth featured traditional Filipino products, such as handwoven table runners, mother of pearl products, wooden handicrafts, bags, toys, food samples, and other examples of Filipino craftsmanship. The Philippine Embassy also distributed trade and investment materials, as well as tourism flyers and booklets featuring Cebu and Bohol.
A video featuring leading investment opportunities in the Philippines, specifically in BPO, manufacturing, medicine, health and wellness, was shown to an audience of approximately 1,000 eager attendees. The Philippine team also entertained inquiries on trade and investment matters from interested exporters and foreign investors.
