Santiago PE virtually met with 8 leaders and representatives of the Filipino Community in Santiago on 10 April 2021. The meeting provided the Embassy the opportunity its update the community on the COVID 19 pandemic situations in the Philippines and Chile while underscoring the importance of following safety and health protocols as well as availing of vaccination soonest. The Embassy underscored the message that it is everyone´s responsibility to be a COVID barrier instead of a COVID spreader.
The meeting discussed possible activities relative to the 75th Anniversary of Philippine-Chile Diplomatic Relations including a cultural performance and video highlighting the service extended by the Filipino Community in Chile. The Embassy also provided an update on travel/ restrictions to the Philippines.
