(Santiago, 11 January 2021) – The Philippine Embassy in Chile (Santiago PE) conducted a seminar and training on World Trade Organization (WTO) Introduction and Practice for its DFA organic personnel on 11 January 2021.  The training was held at the Philippine Chancery in Las Condes and served as an echo seminar of the WTO Law and Practice Virtual Seminar organized by the DFA-Office of the Undersecretary for International Economic Relations (OUIER), the Philippine Permanent Mission in Geneva, and the Advisory Center on WTO Law (ACWL) held on 11, 18 and 25 November 2020.  Consul Dennis Briones, who served as main resource person, discussed the fundamental principles and functions of the WTO, as well as provided insights on current trade practices and recurring challenges to the said multilateral organization.
