12 March 2020. The Philippine Embassy in cooperation with Brass Chile CEO, Mr. Roy Betinol held a turnover ceremony at the Escuela Republica de Filipinas, Lo Espejo, Santiago on 12 March 2020. Brass Chile is a full service engineering company established in Santiago in 2000, employing Filipino engineers.

The turnover of two twenty-footer containers converted to offices for the school by Brass Chile was attended by Mayor Miguel Bruna Silva and representatives of the Lo Espejo municipality, Brass Chile and school officials and students, as well as Embassy personnel.

The turnover program included remarks by School Directress Veronica Carreño Moyano, Mayor Miguel Bruna, CEO Roy Betinol and Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza. Young elemetary students of the school impressed the audience with their performance of Bulaklakan Dance followed by Chilean artist, Ms. Francisca Diaz Rodriguez´s rendition of Sarangola ni Pepe (Ms. Rodriguez is the daughter of the Ambassador´s Secretary/Assistant), and Jesus is Lord (JIL)´s performance of Sayaw sa Banko and Tinikling. The cultural performances were followed by the ribbon cutting and viewing of the new offices.

Santiago PE in 2019 undertook a series of activities for the school, in partnership with the Filipino Community. These included donations of books and sports materials and a Christmas Bazaar. The Embassy, as part of its cultural diplomacy program, will assist in the building of the Philippine Corner at the school library to consist of book and reference materials on the Philippines.
