The Philippine Embassy convened a meeting with members of the Filipino Community on 08 February 2020 at the Embassy Chancery.

Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza officially opened and presented the key topics of the meeting. Consul General Marcos A.S. Punsalang gave an update on the re-emergence of polio in the Philippines, while Consul Dennis John C. Briones talked on the evolving Novel Corona Virus in our country and the world. Both officers underscored the importance of observing proper hygiene and maintaining good health. They also referred all attendees to the World Health Organization and the Philippine Department of Health websites for updates. The discussion on health matters was followed by a financial literacy lecture by Ms. Jeany V. Macadangdang, Finance Officer of the Embassy. She discussed ways of managing one´s earnings and forms of investments which Filipinos abroad could consider. Ms. Josefina S. Abenoja, Acting Consular Officer provided an update on the on-going overseas registration. The seminar was followed by a simple lunch prepared by Cultural Officer Mr. Jeffry D. Aranda, and which was much appreciated by all.
