The Philippine Embassy Santiago promoted the Philippine crafts, textile, cuisine,dances, sports, and tourism destinations in the ASEAN Week 2020 organized by the Chile-ASEAN Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Municipality of La Union from 15-17 January 2020.
The Philippine Embassy introduced Philippine food (adobo, inihaw, cassava cake, lumpia, dried pineapple and mangoes and pineapple juice) through its food booth and food demonstrations which were big attractions.
ASEAN Week 2020 provided an opportunity to present some Philippine folk dances with the Filipino Community performing Tinikling, Itik-itik and Kuratsa to the people of La Union. These performances received warm applause from the viewers.
Philippine Embassy also showcased Philippine crafts and fibers such as piña, tinalak, and abaca during its talks and exhibits.
Philippine Martial Arts Kali, presented as the most flexible form of self defense was also one the most watched and participated booth during the ASEAN Week.
