(Santiago, 30 September 2019) A Philippine Department of Agriculture Inspection Mission (DAIM) arrived in Chile on 24 November 2019 to inspect Chilean phyto-sanitary compliance in the production of fresh pork, chicken and turkey for possible export to the Philippines.

Dr. Roie-Lee N. Cataluña, Head of the Philippine Delegation, met with Dr. David Guerrero, Division Chief in Charge of Poultry Protection, Servicio Agricola Y Ganadero (SAG), and discussed the administrative arrangements for the inspection by the DAIM team to various locations in Chile where fresh pork, chicken and turkey are produced. Another meeting on 02 October 2019 assessed the results of the inspections by the DAIM team.

The Philippine Embassy was represented by Mr. Marcos Punsalang, Deputy Chief of Mission, and Mrs. Josefina Abenoja, Economic Diplomacy Officer.
